In 2008 I was the web developer for the Done by Law website. Done by Law presents radical perspectives on the legal system, on the much-loved 3CR community radio here in Melbourne, produced by a members of the Federation of Community Legal Centres in Victoria.
DONE BY LAW is grassroots radio for social justice on community radio station 3CR in Melbourne, Australia. We have been on the air since 1980, giving listeners our unique and irreverent take on current legal news. Presented by the Federation of Community Legal Centres and a team of legal and non-legal presenters, we make sense of everything from new graffiti laws to refugee law.
The site is an audio podcasting blog built using WordPress, designed by Tom Civil of the wonderful local publishers, artists and activists Breakdown Press, and project managed by Marian Prickett from the Done by Law show. I had a lot of fun making this website, helping Marian and the show identify their requirements, hacking a number of open-source components together and customising them for the project’s needs. It was also satsifying helping a community radio show find it’s place on the web.
